A Ritual Passed Through Generations
More than an ingredient. More than skincare. A timeless tradition of care, connection, and ancient purity — grown, not manufactured.
"The earth provides everything we need to heal."
Ayurvedic History
Rooted In Heritage
Before it was a formula, it was a practice — carried from one pair of hands to the next.
Centuries of Traditional Use
Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal have been the cornerstone of skin rituals across generations, revered in Ayurveda for their role in restoring the complexion without disturbing the skin's balance.
Inspired by Ayurvedic Practices
Our formulations honour classical Ayurvedic texts, pairing that ancient wisdom with roots grown, harvested, and prepared under our own hand — not sourced from a supply chain we don't know.
Grown, Not Sourced
Every root begins on our own 8-acre land in Kerala, cultivated, watched, and harvested by the same hands, season after season — nothing bought in from strangers, nothing left to guesswork.
Why We Began
A Kitchen Recipe, Made For The World
We did not set out to start a company. We set out to stop people being sold the wrong root.
We did not set out to start a company. We set out to stop people being sold the wrong root. For years, the pastes were ground at home — for family, and for whoever came asking, one root at a time, each in its own season. The same question kept returning with them: why can nobody buy the real thing? The honest answer was that what sold as Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal on a shelf rarely was — most of it turned out to be ordinary cooking turmeric, dyed and perfumed to imitate one or the other. So we set out to make both true roots available exactly as they are. No fillers to bulk either out, no fragrance to mask them, no heat that would strip their potency. Just the formulas as they were handed down — Kasthoori Manjal harvested in its season, Kari Manjal in its own — prepared in batches small enough to check by hand, on land we grow ourselves.
The Family Recipe
Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal, ground at home for weddings, festivals, and the week before them — a ritual long before either was ever a product.
The Problem On The Shelf
Curcuma Aromatica and Curcuma Caesia are both slower to grow and costlier to cultivate than culinary turmeric, so most packs labelled Kasthoori Manjal or Kari Manjal never contain what they claim. We wanted the difference to be visible — and provable, root to pack.
Two Roots, Two Seasons
Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal are not grown, harvested, or ready at the same time — each root follows its own season on our land. It is one more thing that is difficult to fake and impossible to rush.
The Small Batch
We kept the method rather than scaling past it: each root harvested in its own season, shade-dried, stone-ground, and blended in quantities we can still inspect ourselves, one batch at a time.
Family & The Land
From Soil to Skin
Every pack of Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal begins on eight acres of Kerala soil — land that has been under one family's care for close to a decade, long before it ever became a formula.
Cultivate
Grown on our own 8-acre farm in Kerala, Curcuma Aromatica and Curcuma Caesia are nurtured by the monsoon rains and the tropical sun, alongside a wide range of other crops we cultivate on the same land — a working farm, not a single-crop plantation.
Led By Mrs. Rajani Mahendran
This land has been farmed for the last 5 to 8 years by Mrs. Rajani, with her family working alongside her at every stage — from the first sowing to the final harvest. In 2025, her work on the land was recognised with the Karshakastree Award, honouring her contribution to farming and cultivation in the region. It is this same land, and these same hands, that grow the roots behind SVARNA LEPA SUTRA and KALI LEPA SUTRA. Before Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal became a formula, they were a harvest — tended by a farmer who never separated the land from the ritual it was meant to serve.
Harvest & Craft
Hand-picked at peak potency, our roots are shade-dried and micro-milled to preserve their vital essence — no high-heat processing, no shortcuts that trade purity for speed. What leaves our land as a root reaches you as a formula, with nothing added in between.
LINEAGE OF RADIANCE
Generations of Grace
"The knowledge of Kasthuri Manjal was never confined to a text. It was whispered from mother to daughter, grandmother to granddaughter, across courtyards filled with the scent of sandalwood and rain."
These are the guardians of the ritual — the women who understood that true radiance is cultivated over a lifetime of mindful care, not applied overnight. Mrs. Rajani carries that same lineage forward, in her own way — the hands that grow Kasthoori Manjal and Kari Manjal on our land belong to a farmer, not a factory, continuing a knowledge passed down long before it had a brand name.
"True beauty is the reflection of a life lived with intention and care."

A Note From The Founder
"The Face Pack was not born from a desire to create another product, but to bring back a feeling — the feeling of grounding, of generational wisdom, and the simple elegance of earth meeting skin."
Growing up, skincare was never found in plastic bottles; it was prepared by hand, close to the land, as a ritual shared rather than a routine performed. We wanted to bottle that intention — that slow, deliberate care — for the modern world, without losing its soul.
